Katt walks into the 4th room as the group passes by it and lays down on a bed. He says as the others move on with their tour, "Its been a long day. I am dead on my feet." He then folds his arms over his chest and closes his eyes.

(His body is in stasis. Neither alive or dead, so he wouldn't have a heartbeat, skin room temperature, etc.)

"I honestly dont know sir. You can ask Shifty when he comes back in a moment. Albeit i can tell you that the Gate is in relative proximity from this location. Technically speaking.
What exactly do we need to do to close it? Kill the Gatekeeper? What would be the effect, what do we need to consider and how does one best progress? Has it been done before?"

"Those gates are a symptom, not a cause. Something powerful came over from the other-side, which causes the gate to persist until it leaves our world. If its truly Isis, then you need to figure out why she is here. Killing her will close the gate, as her soul returns to the afterlife, although, she is immortal and would likely be upset at you for killing her. If you kill the guardian, it will close the gateway, and cut her off from much of her power."

"Isis is probably in the body of a beautiful woman. She tends to force others to do her bidding, and might be raising minions. She isn't a true necromancer, so she can only raise recently dead bodies. They will maintain much of their former knowledge and be infatuated with her, not enslaved by her. Depending on how Isis came into this world, its likely that the body she is in is dead, although she could be possessing someone. She has some amount of spell power at her command, so watch out, although if the gateway is closed, she will be cut off from it. As a Goddess of the Dead, she can summon Anubian Hounds, as you have seen, and they will do her bidding. If as you said there are missing people, she likely has enthralled them to her."

"She is very covert. There have been some disapperances and some killings, but nothing that great a scale. The sewer-workers were the first hint.
What about the Banshee? Did it just walk out for a stroll to do its duty and sing its song for a doomed soul or would it have an agenda above that?"
Trooper sits down and pours his head over some maps.
"How do you kill a goddess? If it comes to that."

He then taps his helmet thoughtfully. "Dead celebrity... Or dieing celebrity. That would fit more. Someone upper class to acomulate her needs and desires. But where does she get the bodies from then? Mayhaps something more straight-forward: A nurse or someone who deals with dieing or dead people. Any recent sudden recoveries from hospital against all odds? And why would no one notice that there is a bunch of dead people walking around. We are, after all, not the only special people around."

"The Banshee was probably just doing its duty. It could be summoned, but it doesn't cause death, only foretells it. If it was summoned, its likely a messenger from the other side, so Isis could have summoned it to get a message out, or someone sent her a message."

"You can't, at least not on this side of the gateway. You can kill her vessel which will force her back through the gateway. If is a possession, that will also kill the being it is attached to. If you want to force it out of the body, I might be able to come up with a ritual, but it would need a bit more research and you would still need to trap her."

* You haven't heard about this. Although, she could have been provided a body, of course that means another party is involved. *

* You suddenly remember this (from the Prologue) *
The violence continues in the Delmon area of the city. Several gang members have been found beheaded and at least 2 cops have gone missing in the area. Commissioner Roswell had recommended a 6 PM curfew while Mayor Wallace is putting together a task force to investigate.

And a little later
Protesilaus wrote: * Trooper *
There have been a lot of missing people in the Delmon area. Its a low income, mostly minority residential section of the city. Your information is probably underreported to the actual numbers. It seems for about the last month there have been at least 36 people dead or missing. Further investigation has shown most have gone missing, cleaned out any savings within the next 2 to 3 days and some end up dead. The beheadings started about a week ago.

Right now it seems that the police are more worried about the bombing on the consulate, then a few dead gang members.

"What happens now? I think the one who was supposed to die did survive because of the Banshee and me."

"Breaker: She is in Delmon. Lots of people there, some missing, a few dead. But enough to not occur the beatdown of the police just yet. Its getting close to the authorities, however. If they march in there, we might get a bloodbath on our hands. I dont know how that helps us, however, if we cant kill or trap her." He looks to the british man. "What do you need to identify her?"

"We better leave that social stuff in D to Shifty. Gruntwork for us, Breaker... and the new guy." He thrusts his thumb to the room where Katt is sleeping. "Looks like we have to kill a guardian of the Underworld: Any problems with that?"

"Wait a moment.... its a club. 'The Nest'! That is where she is."
Trooper suddendly moves so quickly to the computer that he is almost pushing over the chair, trying to find what he thinks to be a new club.

"Its the area... beautiful women around and the security would be high. Heck. Even the gangmembers wouldnt try to shoot up the club after scouting it and falling to her prey. They would be protecting it. She is creating an army from the slums.
It would fit her profile to use such a hideout."

There is a club known as "The Nest" that opened recently in the Delmon district. Most of the police reports are about drug use and noise complaints.

Tapping his watch Shifty would look at the doctor before speaking "Follow me"

Entering the sewers he would, regardless if the doctor followed him or not rejoin his friends as he put on a rather large smile "Come one come all?"

"Explain, Shifty."
Having that many unknown people due to Shifty in his homebase and living room is not an amusing thought for the Trooper. He sincerely starts to get byond annoyed. With his abilities, Shifty would actually be able to make a lot of money, but Erik had already a feeling that the man shifted without a plan, being trapped in an oozing state without any real bonds. Which brings the planing phase to Erik.
And now this.

"I don't think we're equipped to kill a guardian of the underworld, nor do I make it my business to make waves in the spiritual world. I don't have a get out of jail free card with the man upstairs or anything. We can find another way to take her out right? Besides, that guy would wipe the floor with us. I'm just a thug from the hood, remember?"

"Ok. What is your plan? How do we bring down an Egyptian Goddess?"
Trooperis not malicious in his question. He is willing to listen and to discuss this. "We can get something from her for MagicMan to perform his little trick and banish her, i suppose. But going in such an effort against a Goddess on full power without weakening her first is also a horrible risk."

If you are looking at weakening, if you could get me something from her, hair, nails, blood anything like that, I could rig up a few charms to weaken her.

"Its not unheard of, actually. Think of Hercules and the Cerberus. At least the latter we have pretty good evidence exists. They can be killed, or at least destroyed thoroughly that it counts as the same. They might return at a later date, but a guardian wouldnt come with a vengance after us. A goddess could, however.
You underestimate technology and our own powers and overestimate those of an ancient culture or even the afterlife. They got magic, but that is no longer anything new. A gun works on a body and right now they chose to have bodies and hosts. The guardian is not an exeption. I dont say it would be easy, but possible to beat it in a fight. Straight or not, if we have some firepower up to minor explosives and fire, we should be able to kill that thing."

Blinking as he gazed at the trooper shifty would smile before speaking "I think we all know that this is a job a bit to big for the good old trifecta we usually run in and as for why I brought you all here instead of some other place is because this place is safe and we can discuss whatever we might need to discuss without worrying about a certain someone from the underworld overhearing our conversations and thwarting our plans before they are set to life. If she is hiding within that club then I can try to infiltrate it but I don't know if a goddess would be able to see through my disguise or not"
