Question: May I use the Dragon magazine option for a Celestial Steed?

I have a Gamma World character. :P If it was normal time, I could do it, but I have some guests coming over Sunday evening around 5. How long were you figuring on running it?

Doesn't matter on the celestial steed. Need to be level 4. NEXT TIME!

Question though: What are your thoughts, Prot, on material from Kobold Quarterly? They had some cool options for mounted combat. The only one I'd really use is a lance (1d8, Prof +2, +1 bonus to attack charges while mounted (+2 total then), +2 damage on a charge)

So what programs am I going to need for this? Just got my Logitech headset today, and have given it a trial run and, at present, am satisfied with it :)

I know I'll need Skype, so I have that on and ready. Any other programs necessary?

Right so I am quite new and this is the schedule i see with the latest replies to it... so I guess i'll post in here.

I would love to start playing more D&D from which I have little expierence. I played a few games on 3.5 with a very few friends back in High School... but those days are long gone, moved to a different state, so the little friends I did have that liked D&D are reduced to 0, so for month I've been trying to get in to Online D&D something, I like the MMO, but its great as a Video Game ... less traditional. So my tidings have been video and audio D&D Podcasts, Penny Arcade, BensRPGPile, RPGMP3 etc etc, and I came across the podcasts for NerdBound and was browsing for curosity and found you guys don't require people to be in person, and you involve more then just a set few individuals, and so I am very very interested. Already have Skype, Hamachi and a Mic, and downloaded MapTools and all the other Tools they offered, and I am ready to start rolling but I am still rather new. I know most things, and I have documentation on my PC, quite a bit 4e content, and was curious what your regular stipulations are for scheduling and does it matter which character creator I can or should use?

Edit: Also, just a quick browse I notice there aren't that many people, and thus the forum is rather small for sections, but wouldn't it be advantageous to have a section for the forum newbies like myself? An intro spot would do wonder's, I know it did on the clan forums I run.

Hey Sentai welcome to the forums. I wanted to say hey and give you the scoop on the forums here. So now we have two podcasts as part of the NerdBound Network! Kudos to Protesilaus for getting Guildhall going and for his tremendous response. We are small, but I'd say very active (18000 posts with only 85 members is kinda crazy).

So, the intro section is actually on the NerdBound Podcast forum above. It should be revised to reflect our recent changes. I'll add an intro to the newest NerdBound episodes also to give people a heads up. We do have a weekly game (NerdBound Podcast) with a smaller group of people (however 4 of our regular forum folks have joined the official roster). I also run "off-games" from our campaign as one shots and I give forum members preference in those games. You're welcome to join in on any of those. We also have a Play by Post section with tons of games running there.

Now on to the Guildhall Podcast. Protesilaus has just started another podcast that will have its own website, but hopefully piggy back on our forums to keep the community going. His goal is to have short D&D sessions with a rotating roster with first come, first serve sign ups. Or not. It's his podcast, so he can choose people for games too. So it's a cool premise and the world will build from there with listeners helping along the way.

So that's the short summary. Maybe I should post this on an overall welcome forum.

K, talked to Neil just a bit and I am rolling some characters on the Wizards of the Coast D&D 4E Character Builder.

So if your interested in having on someone new, let me know, I know Neil needs another RolePlayer, and I've vaulenteered myself.

Also if you check the Contest thread I made a generic NerdBound Intro for the podcasts. Protesilaus If you would like one made I can. It would also be simple for me to do specialized intro's for specific Podcasts, and shorter 1-2 session Podcasts can use a generic intro.

Also Protesilaus and Neil, If either of you are planning a joint Podcast then of course I can make an special NerdBound and GuildHall intro.

Is there a trick to actually loading maptools. I downloaded the files and can't seem to find an installer or anything.

There should be a file name "MapToolLauncher" available. But i am quite unsure how to deal with the program afterwards, i admit. It does, however, look to me like a mapbuilder from well-known blizzard-games so it should be fun to handle :D

No installer, un rar / zip the folder and run MapToolLauncher.exe

The Tools they offer Require Java as well. So if by the off chance your not up to date or don't have it at all, there ya go.

Edit: Also me and a few of the other people on here are on skype right now, we could do a call and help each other out in a call, would prolly go much smoother.

Edit 2: Also, it looks bland but I suspect it will change when we're connected to himachi. It's not vital, but its like your own miniature set, but instead of on a table its on the screen. I assume the DM will control it and change whats necessary.
