Battleship: Trailer - WTF is Hollywood On?

Postby Protesilaus » Mon Dec 19, 2011 6:39 pm

So the Transformers and GI Joe movies are based on a Hasbro license. Hollywood now assumes if they toss money at all Hasbro licenses they will make money. Ridley Scott is going to direct a movie based on Monopoly (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=60840). So my question is, whats next?

Since there was already a Clue movie and a D&D movie, my guess is a horror movie called Ouija (I am skipping over a Risk and "Axis and Allies" game because there are already plenty of War movies, and I don't think that Hollywood would jump on making a game about them...yet).

I searched Wikipedia for it, and I didn't see any information under the Ouija article, so I figured it wasn't being developed.

Well they made rockum-sockum robots look pretty cool.

They could make scrabble into a cypher based spy type movie.

Rockum-sockum robots were two robots fighting to the death (beheading.. close enough). It was cool to start with.

I sunk your battleship? Fun..maybe. Cool? no.

"Real Steal" did not have the Rockum-Sockum license (as far as I can tell).
