Have anything in mind aside from the previous if you'd rather wait for a recorder to do them? I might have a few ideas but it'd also depend on what you can get your hands on and what settings you'd feel like doing. Off the top of my head the battletech rpg, a time of war, might interesting but I felt that the points given for character creation was too small. The sample character I had was piss poor in all but two attributes and one of those piss poor attributes was in negatives. Which I then needed to spend points on just to put back in the positives. It uses a life path system where you spend points to choose background choices. Examples are things like allegiances, education, early life, middle life, etc. Thats just one game off the top of my head. I'll try to think up more to see if you'd be interested. By the way I'll admit I tend to shy away from standard d&d. Not sure why really. It's not like I don't like the game. When I play I do have fun. I'm not sure what it might be.

Edit: deadlands: reloaded savage world edition, Kerberos club. More ideas to come. Maybe just something where we're guys looking for a big score. Been doing a guy Ritchie marathon so far today and wouldn't mind playing a game like that. I just dont know a system that does that.

Sorry, not really into battletech, nor do I know, or have I ever read the rules. The closest I've come is palladium's version, I think it was robotech or battletech, but that barely caught my immagination either.

I think I have the savage worlds rules kicking arround somewhere. Don't know about deadlands. I DO have deadlands, and have started reading it, but haven't gotten through the whole book yet.

Dogs in the Vineyard would be fun, but it requires buckets of dice.

I just put my hat into running a 4e game if you want to buckle down and give DnD a shot. It too will be on skype, aparantly on maptools.

I'd love to give Toon a try. Warhammer fantasy, but the dice and crap are all wierd and I don't know how internet-capable it is.

Rogue trader is surprisingly easy to make adventures for (in my mind at least) even though I can't make a star wars adventure to save my life.

D20 modern did grab my attention when it came out, but lost it over the years.

I don't mind rogue trader if that's easy for you. As for 4e...hmmm I had a shade assassin laying around but not sure if my friend would be down for 4e. I'll ask him anyway. My experience with 4e is almost nil, same with him, so we'd probably need time to get used to things.

Also if you don't feel like dming I'm willing to dm a game myself. I've put up plenty ads haha. I think dragon age had two people that wanted to play but we never could find another 1 or two. My friend liked the thought of it.

I gave the videogame a try and found it wasn't for me. I've seen the RPG arround, but know nothing about it. I'm good to DM or play. I'm scheduling a wednesday game with someone from enworld and his players, a Darksun 4e game that I'll be running. You're more than welcome in that.

Aw, I really like dragon age origins. Didn't like part 2 all that much. Tapping A repeatedly did not make me feel like I was involved in the action like everyone says it did. The rpg I've heard people like cause its simple to get into and doesn't bog players down with a lot of options. Thats both a good and bad thing to me. I always felt that in D&D unless I knew or had access to the books I'd be screwing my character over and becoming a weak member to the party. Which to me just didn't seem like what I'd really want to go through as a PC or to put my players through. Sure it's got only three main classes but I see them as archetypical of the setting. The choices I get to make past that point helps me to decide what I want to focus on. But theres still things wrong with the game. Overabundance of gold for one. I tend to have a love/hate relationship with rpgs, video games, board games, movies, etc haha.

But I digress, I was only supposed to really say something short like, "I liked DA: O. The RPG is alright." Haha. How many players do you have for that game and what are your rules for it so far? Starting level, gear, whats allowed, not allowed, etc. I'm not sure if my Escaped Slave Demonbound Shade Assassin from Amn would fit in. I'm sure the Amn part doesn't fit since thats from Forgotten Realms setting if I remember. Escaped Slave is from Dark Sun I remember that. Demonbound was an origin I found in a dragon magazine. Never played him. Just built him for a different game that got postponed before I could play him. If he's disallowed I'm going to have to see what else would interest me. Gotta look for that vibe and see how things go.

Standard pont buy, No backgrounds, the theme is alright and fits perfectly. Standard starting gear, except it's definately /not/ metal in any way. I'm going to be using the "You're never getting a magic item ever" rule of auto-adjusting inherant bonuses. So far there's 2 people that I met. I've been told there are 5 total, if you and a friend join I'm going to put the cap on there. Then again, theres always no-shows, so we'll see...

The one house rule I do use is I'm cutting monster HP in half, and doubling their damage. I've done this in games before and it works really well for keeping combats quick and deadly.

Sorry for the disappearance. I don't think my friend will join anything anytime soon as he's hit a rather rough patch the moment. I'm hoping he bounces back up now(I like saying now rather than soon these days) though. How'd the game go? I didn't get a vibe yet from 4e. And that assassin is finally seeing use in a pbp game here. So if I do join in I'd have to think up another character. Which is what I was doing in the first place but couldn't connect with one yet.

Yeah, I kinda went on a little hiatus too, looking for a new job, and writing my RPG system kinda distracted me from forums.
My wednesday game is going smoothly. We had 1 adventure so far, then 5e playtest came out, then a week off for... I can't even remember what so it must have been fun...
But yeah, if you want in, there's no problem at all!
