Earth trundles over to Gorath and Edor and studies them for a while. It in initiates the telepathic link with them as with the others. "Brother of Stone! Child of Forest!" Both men can feel extreme excitement through the link. "You are defenders of the...World?...Land?...Life?"

Wary of the wyvern and senses dulled by Shard's ramblings, Gorath is surprised and takes a step back as Earth connects to his mind. He looks about confused and then realizes that the pile of rocks in the camp is communicating with him. "We are not defenders of this land. All of us have be drawn from our home worlds and wound up here. We have been trying to find a way home and have helped many people along the way. Are you from this place?" Gorath waves a hand encompassing the surrounding countryside.

As night draws near a heard of drakensteed high in the air flys over head. A young male is soon on the ground nearby inspecting the illusion.

It is soon trapped by Xaviers trap and enthralled by the illusion Ohm has crafted.

What do you do.

OOC: I forget what you crit on last time but if it was to capture consider it captured.

Need to know what the others are doing later that day. Gorath and Earth can keep talking as much as you want though.

If it is captured, Ohm will try to impress it with his most powerful spell, showing it that they would be an unstoppable force.

Xavier watches the fight for a bit, wishing he had some crunchy corn. After Ohm gains the upper hand he heads back to the caves. Frustrated by the lack of progress from last night he decides to take a more direct approach. Summoning his blade he draws on the infernal energies coursing through him and lets loose a inhuman roar that echoes throughout the caverns, a bold challenge to any therein.

After a long while a reply roar comes booming from deep in the earth. It is enough to know Xavier on his arse.

Status Quo: Ohm and Shard have mounts.

What I would like is for all those involved to make up a story to catch your prey and make three more different but appropriate checks.

Well I guess I asked for it. As the dragon's roars draw closer Xavier quickly decides trick the creature. Moving off to several side chambers he throws his voice down the hallways trying to disorient his foe. The dragon however is much to wily for that nonsense. Xavier soon finds himself on the run, depending entirely on his stealth and guile to elude the angry beast. Thus begins a deadly game of cat and mouse. The warlock launches brutal ambushes disappearing back into the shadows while the dragon's dogged pursuit occasionally catches Xavier in the open. For hours the brutal chess match continues until Xavier finally finds himself cornered with no where to run...or so the dragon thinkss. With opposing roars the two clash, dragonflame buffetting against hellfire, claws against infernal blade. Slowly, Xavier begins to give ground. In a fair fight he would have lost, but he never fights fair. Jumping back he lets loose a barrage of eldrich bolts, their poor aim drawing a chuckle from the beast. So intent is the dragon on his prey that he does not notice the clack of falling stones until it is too late. With a resounding crack the last bolt separates the stalagtite from its grip on the cave ceiling and it plummets towards the vulerable dragon, smashing him to the ground. After making sure the creature is thoroughly unconscious Xavier goes about setting up the necessary symbols and scripts for forging a minor pact. The dragon's life and soul will remain his in exchange for him serving as a loyal companion and mount for Xavier during his adventures. When the dragon wakes and realizes his plight, he agrees to the terms and the pact is bound in blood. They both emerge from the caves looking a bit worse for wear and head back to the camp.

As Xavier leads the dragon to the cavern where the rest of the party is at camp the dragon chuckles again. "Excellent, your body would not have sated my hunger little one. Your friends will serve as the main course."

With a flap of his wings he rears up and the eldritch binds Xavier placed on him shatter like glass throwing everyone in the nearby area prone . The dragon takes to the air and begins his first dive at the party his mouth full of draconic fire.

Dragon Battle

Everyone has 2 days to finish there mount checks. Anyone who hasn't is assumed to have failed. Good Luck.

The others?...need to travel, fast, far. Must travel with them, aid them.

The creature that is the embodiment of the remaining good in the world hunches and puts its hands to the ground. The light between the stones seems to flow into the ground. The rock body collapses into nothing more then a carine.

Earth's consciousness travels fast and wide, searching. It reaches out to any shred of energy still holding out against the despair. Miraculously it touches upon enough through out the world that another, simpler being might come from it. Earth soothes the rage that he once felt, easing the pain and anguish of the death of their world. The life force wants, needs to avenge the tragedy but is not powerful enough to do so on its own. Earth guides the shreds together under the mountains where his companions search for their own mounts. "Pure warriors live...We must aid them to continue living...we not harm, only preserve...they fight the evil, the corrupt...Give us the world back"

The new being coalesces under Earth's guidance. It is able to form a rudimentary intelligence, not unlike that of an animal.

Earth leads it to the surface and they burst forth. Earth resumes his previous form. The new being takes form near them. Pine needles, fallen branches, rocks, sand, anything at all flows into the being. It glows between the pieces just like him.

Eventually something that resembles a huge eagle comes walking awkwardly to Earth's side. He reaches out a rocky "arm" which melds into the creature for a moment. To those that are present he announces through the link "This is Nature...Spirit...Life. It not...fight?...but will carry me far. We go with You?"

You could swear that the rocky face looks hopeful and pleading even though it did not move.

Edor sets out once again in search of the Dragonhawks. He doesn't think they would leave their nesting site forever, so he returns to the area early in the afternoon. He climbs up above the nest and hides in a crevice of the mountainside awaiting the return of one or more of the adults. Late in the evening, an adult returns to the nest and seems a little wary of the area. As soon as it's back is turned to him, Edor leaps out from the crevice and onto the hawk's back. Immediately taking flight, Edor hangs on as best he can and tries to sooth the scared and angry bird of prey.

After resting up Gorath decides to head off on his own to try and find a suitable mount. After their close call with the dragonhawks he realizes that he needs to stay downwind of any potential mounts. Traveling during the heat of the day Gorath hopes to catch a dragonhawk in it's lair waiting out the worst of the suns rays. Just as the sun starts to dip below the horizon he find a lone male. It's big for a dragonhawk and Gorath knows he'll be lucky to collar it.

He jumps down onto the dragonhawk just as it begins to stir. The wily old creature tries to buck him off but Gorath holds on tight. Enraged the dragonhawk leaps from it's lair plummeting to the earth with the unaccustomed weight in it's back. Gorath maneuvers into a better position on it's back and the dragonhawk responds and slowly over an hour or so the two become as one.
